Institutes of the Leibniz Society
At the Leibniz Association, 86 scientific, legal and economically independent research institutes and service establishments in Germany have combined. Seven institutes are located in Baden Württemberg.
Their historical origins lie in the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (WGL) scientific association on the 'Blue List' and the Academies of the former DDR. Apart from co-financing of all institutes, both federally and by the states, a shared characteristic is their national importance and the forward-looking work in the interests of the entire state.
