Surveys of Regional Innovation? A Feasability Study for Europe

Abstract

This report is concerned with a feasability study for a series of European Regional Innovation Surveys (ERIS). The aim of the feasability study was to define a methodology for ERIS and to construct and refine tools to be used in the surveys. The surveys will involve both industrial local units and units within the region that provide support to industry for innovation activity.

The regional innovation surveys are designed to complement the national level picture provided by the Community Innovation Survey (CIS), by focusing on individual units within enterprises, to identify innovation activities and capability at the regional level.

Main Findings:
