15 March 1997

• Publication of Esprit's eighth call for proposals, covering tasks and themes drawn from the 1997 work-programme and heralded by an Information Day in Brussels on 3 March. In this call proposers could submit short HPCN proposals in electronic form if they wished.

15 April 1997

• Publication of joint IMS call (with the IMT programme).
• Deadline for short (first-step) proposals submitted under the two-step scheme of the call of 15 March 1997.

17 June 1997

• Publication of Esprit's ninth call for proposals, covering ESSI and Software Technologies Trial Applications.
• Deadline for proposals submitted under the single-step scheme of the call of 15 March 1997.

16 September 1997

• Publication of Esprit's tenth call for proposals covering tasks and themes, accompanied by an Information Day in Brussels on 29 September. In this call, electronic submission was strongly recommended for all short proposals (first-step proposals in the two-step scheme).
• Deadline for all proposals submitted under the call of 17 June 1997.

16 October 1997

• Deadline for short (first-step) proposals, including those in electronic format, submitted under the two-step scheme of the call of 16 September 1997.

31 October 1997

• Publication of joint Concurrent Engineering in Aeronautics call (with the IMT programme).
• Deadline for voluntary pre-proposals for Task 4.3 submitted under the single-step scheme of the call of 16 September 1997.

18 November 1997

• Deadline for voluntary pre-proposals for Task 4.4 submitted under the single-step scheme of the call of 16 September 1997.

16 December 1997

• Deadline for proposals (except for Task 4.4) submitted under the single-step scheme of the call of 16 September 1997.

2 February 1998

• Deadline for proposals for the Concurrent Engineering in Aeronautics call of 31 October 1997.

16 February 1998

• Deadline for proposals for Task 4.4 submitted under the single-step scheme of the call of 16 September 1997.

17 March 1998

• Last planned call for proposals by Esprit under the Fourth Framework Programme.

Please note that the continuous submission scheme for all preparatory, support and technology transfer activities is now expected to close on 17 March 1998.
