The ability to learn faster than your competitors may be the only sustainable advantage "Knowledge Management" is coming to be seen as a counterweight to strategies of downsizing and re-engineering, which call into question the very durability of organisations. The basic assumption of knowledge management is that knowledge creation, together with the effective marshalling and use of the knowledge available in an organisation, is an effective way to create sustainable organisations.
