EITC '96 - Doing Business in the Information Society

Brussels, 25-27 November, Congress Centre


OUTLINE INFORMATION

At the moment most initiatives in Electronic Commerce limit themselves to national boundaries. However, many of these private or mixed private-public initiatives are ultimately pursuing a global strategy. The G7 project A Global Marketplace for SMEs is a prime example of a global public activity in electronic commerce (see the first session below).

International Initiatives
Monday 25 November, 11.00-12.30
Image Examines the state of play, including the G7 information society pilot projects.

Global Developments I
Monday 25 November, 14.00-15.30 Image Concentrates on major initiatives with a global dimension in industrialised countries.

Global Developments II
Monday 25 November, 16.30-17.30 Image Reviews developements in Korea, the Philippines and Brazil.

Urban and Regional Initiatives
Tuesday 26 November, 9.45-11.15 Image Focuses on intiatives with a local, regional or inter-regional dimension, including "digital cities".

Cooperative R&D in IT between the EU and its Neighbours
Tuesday 26 November, 11.45-13.15 Image Surveys Central and Eastern European developments and initiatives in Mediterranean countries.
