OMI-GLUE (6062)

The objective of OMI-GLUE is to design and develop a complete language support and software architecture for OMI, based on the concept of a virtual binary interface. The architecture will enable the development of software supporting all the microprocessors selected as the technology baseline for OMI, as well as new developments such as the new OMI architecture and the Eurocell library.

The project will also provide a software platform for the migration of existing application software onto OMI, taking into account the different hardware architectures. The following approach will be taken:

Develop the language support for OMI
Define and develop the software architecture for the new high-performance processor family
Consolidate and develop ANDF (architecture neutral distribution format) technology
Extend its applicability to parallel computer systems.
