Over 100 successful applications of Esprit project results are described in these pages, which are the Web version, continuously updated, of a book published in November 1995.
These results have been selected from a range of completed and on-going Esprit projects to provide a balanced representation of the programme's research and application areas.
Each result profile provides a brief description of the market opportunity addressed by a particular research result or application; a description of the result or application; and reference to the research project or projects through which the result was achieved.
Full contact details of the person directly involved in the result or application are also provided, and, where available, links to relevant Web pages on other sites.
The results can be accessed via three routes at present:
1. Application Area: The results have been grouped into seven application areas, listed below. This categorisation is based on the main application of the result described in the profile. However, other existing or potential application areas are also mentioned in each result description.

2. Research Areas: The Esprit programme is divided into seven research areas, corresponding to the structure of the work-programme.
3. Related Results: Each result is linked to one or more related results on the basis of similar technologies or similar applications.
