PPP (FP7 Information day for the Public Private Partnerships) Information day 13th July 2009.*

More than 800 participants attended the Information day on the three research PPPs ‘Factories of the Future’, ‘Energy-efficient Buildings’ and ‘Green Cars’. The event was opened by EU Commissioner for Science and Research Janez Potočnik stating: "it is now recognized that investing in R&D is not a luxury when times are easy, but a necessity when times are hard.’ Viviane Reding, EU Commissioner for Information Society and Media, followed with "Joint investment by the Commission and industry represents an important step towards a knowledge-based and low-carbon EU economy.”

Afterwards a good overview of the activities going on in the PPPs was given by industrial representatives. The aim of this event was also to provide information about the first Cross-thematic Coordinated Calls related to the PPPs. In particular, the research areas open and the conditions for participation were explained.

The event was oversubscribed and for that reason we decided to record all the presentations and to make them available afterwards. The recordings can be found at the following weblink with following powerpoint presentations.

The brokerage activities were appreciated very much and we got already many requests for the documents. It was a good opportunity to come in contact with other potential proposers and partners. All project ideas and presentations can be found here.

We hope that all the material will support you in the preparations of projects for the Calls which will be published at the end of July.

Finally, if your interest was especially on the Green Cars PPP we inform you that at the Transport Information Days on 28-29 September 2009 special attention will be given to the Green Car initiative.
