Computer screens are the new tools for surgeons and psychiatrists alike. Virtual reality, remote manipulators for surgery and videoconferencing promise to increase the quality and availability of healthcare while also cutting costs. But medical specialists need to learn more about technology transfer.

Medical schools are facing a serious problem - a lack of dead bodies for students to practice on. Since body snatching has been illegal for a good number of years and bequeathing your body to medical science isn't in vogue, an alternative would be useful. Part of the answer is the Visible Human Project and an interactive training tool that has resulted from it. But be warned - it's not for the squeamish!
