In the niche of time
Someone has to be the first. Everyone knows that we can't go on using cars as much as we do, but no one seems to want to be the only person to do without. How then to arrive at feasible ways to make transport more sustainable? Examine the micro level. A European team looked at the issue as one of niche technologies and niche markets.
Pension stations
Europe's older nuclear power plants will soon have to be retired. Dismantling them and disposing of or re-using radioactive components raises serious safety issues. If the public is to be confident that these processes are hazard-free, European decommissioning strategies and policies must be understandable and transparent.
