The 'International Conference on Achieving Sustainable Construction Health and Safety' will be held from 2 to 3 June 2014 in Lund, Sweden.

The previous decade has witnessed an increased pressure to broaden the accountability of businesses in way of corporate social responsibility. Beyond proving their positions as pillars of economic growth and investment viability, businesses are increasingly facing demands to focus their concerns on the well-being of employees in respect to health and safety requirements. Areas central to addressing employee welfare include fair disciplinary practices, a healthy work-life balance, in addition to training and development opportunities.

This conference aims to deal with the social aspect of occupational health in the construction industry. It will facilitate discussion on co-operation and information exchange between governmental research institutes in the construction sector, technical researchers and the construction industry. Topics of discussion include the role of stakeholders, design of health procedures, behaviour-centred safety, quality work life, incident-free environments and proactive inclusion. For further information, please visit:
