The European Commission has published a call for Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships. This action aims to reinforce the research excellence of the Member States and the associated countries through knowledge sharing with incoming top-class researchers active in a third country to work on research projects in Europe, with the view to developing mutually beneficial research co-operation. At the same time the projects will constitute nuclei for future research relations at international level, which will be beneficial in the context of the development of the European knowledge-based economy and society. The action provides financial support to individual research projects presented by the incoming experienced researchers in liaison with a legal entity ('host organisation') in a Member State or an associated country. If a researcher was active in one of the International Cooperation Partner Countries, the possibility is provided to assist the researcher to return to this country, thus contributing to the establishment of sustainable cooperation between these countries and European organisations. The call encourages eligible researchers to plan their period of international mobility within the framework of a coherent professional project and thus enhances the possibility of future collaborative research links with European researchers and organisations active in research in their future research career. The total budget for this call is EUR 40 million. To see the official call announcement, please consult: OJ No C 82 of 16 March 2011 and the following link
