SYNERGY 1998 - Calls for expressions of interest
The European Commission, DG XVII, has issued calls for expressions of interest for 14 projects to be financed by the SYNERGY programme for cooperation with third countries in the energy field. Calls for tender will be launched for each of these projects during the next few months. Invitations to tender will only be sent to organizations on the short lists resulting from this call for expressions of interest. Any company may express interest in the various projects to be tendered. The Commission will then compile a short list depending on the specific requirements of each project and of the skills and qualifications necessary to carry it out. The projects to be tendered are as follows: - Energy interconnections in South-eastern Europe; - Baltic Sea energy networks task force; - Comprehensive initiative for renewable energy sources around the Baltic Sea; - Industrial cooperation II; - Industrial cooperation with the Ukrainian power utilities; - EU-Central Asia energy cooperation conference; - Regional approach to energy planification in the Mashreq region; - Conference on energy investment and networks in the Mediterranean region; - Energy policy dialogue: Yemen; - Third conference on "EU-China Energy cooperation"; - Training programme on energy management and energy efficiency; - Rational use of electricity in Venezuela; - Promotion of Energy Services Company (ESCOS) in Latin America; - Energy integration in Southern Africa.
