European Geoscience Technologies
The European Commission, DGXVII, has published a new brochure on Geoscience Technologies, within the THERMIE demonstration component of the Non-nuclear Energy research programme. The report is entitled "European Geoscience Technologies: Reducing the Risk in Oil and Gas Exploration". The report examines developments in European technologies in the areas of seismic surveying, geology, geochemistry and cross-disciplines. In particular, it considers developments in data acquisition, data processing, data interpretation and modelling, integration between various disciplines, standardization and how global understanding of petroleum geology is improving.
