Intermodal freight planner
The European Commission, DG VII, has published an invitation to tender for the development of an intermodal freight planner. The contract will be carried out in the framework of the MARTRANS project, an Information Society project of the European Commission. The aim of the project is to develop a virtual intermodal transport chain simulator, which will allow its users to simulate intermodal transport chains on the level of cargo and information flow, and to look at flow optimization. The aim of the contract would be to develop an intermodal freight planner, which will be linked to the chain simulator. In this perspective the following tasks have to be carried out: - An inventory of user requirements; - The creation of an architecture; - The determination of the organizational conditions; - Validation and multimedia presentation.
