Information on the Eastern Energy Centres project, funded under the EU's TACIS programme which provides technical assistance for economic reform and recovery for the New Independent States and Mongolia, is now available on the World Wide Web. Within the project, which commenced in September 1995, the Russian Energy Centres at Ekaterinburg and Novosibirsk have joined together. These Centres aim to provide consultancy and analytical services for uniting the interests of producers and consumers of energy resources. The Centres also provide technical information for companies and equipment for urgent measurements on production sites. They hold courses on energy management and encourage the implementation of modern methods of energy accounting and control.
