With a view to obtaining comparable data which could be used to provide reliable information to consumers on the quality of certain foodstuffs, the European Commission, DG XXIV, has issued an invitation to tender for the execution of a pilot programme. This pilot programme will test the quality of some important foodstuffs of organic and conventional agriculture in eight Member States: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden and the UK. A final report on the study is to be submitted within 18 months.
