Nominees announced for EuroPrix 1998

On 7 October 1998 at the Frankfurt Book Fair, 29 nominees in the six categories of the EuroPrix MultiMediaArt 1998 were announced at a special presentation. Altogether 557 applicants from 26 countries participated in the competition, which aims to identify and promote the best in multimedia production on a pan-European level. The official announcement of the overall winners will be made at a special gala event, which will take place in Vienna, Austria, on 29 November 1998. The winners will be chosen by an independent jury composed of eminent personalities of the multimedia world, and the awards will be presented by Martin Bangemann, European Commissioner for industry, and Hannes Farnleitner, Austrian Minister for Economic Affairs. The special presentation was attended by keynote speakers from the Austrian Ministry for Economic Affairs, the European Commission and the jury selected for the competition. This event was transmitted in a live Webcast, parts of which will be available at a later date on the EuroPrix web service.
