SCADPlus is a World Wide Web information service which covers the former INFO92 and SCAD databases. It contains a wide range of information which helps provide a better understanding of European Union policies, as well as practical information for the European citizen. A broad selection of articles from periodicals from all over the world relating to Community affairs is also available. The database provides information in seven sections: - A calendar of meetings of all the European institutions, with details of the subjects discussed or on the agenda; - A section on European Union policies, containing summaries and publication references of policies adopted by the EU as well as the national implementing measures transposing Community directives into the legal systems of Member States, with the legal form and publication reference; - Practical guide to the free movement of persons providing information on employment, residence rights, living and working conditions and social security; - Programmes, networks and observatories concerned with social affairs and education; - The SCAD database, containing bibliographical references relating to Community legislation, publications of the European institutions, articles from periodicals, and statements and opinions from the social partners at the European level; - A glossary providing definitions of some 150 concepts for a better understanding of the challenges facing the EU such as enlargement and economic and monetary union; - A comprehensive guide to the Treaty of Amsterdam.
