A new information network and Website have recently been established to provide a commercial information service on Europe's growing renewable energy technology markets (RET). The service, EuroREX (European Renewable Energy Exchange), gives access to investment, trade, business opportunities and technical information on renewable energy markets in a total of 33 countries. The project was funded within the EU's THERMIE programme for the promotion of energy technology in Europe and builds on previous work carried out under the EU's TERES II project (European Renewable Energy Study) and the ALTENER programme for renewable energy. The information available covers projects, companies, market developments and energy technologies in sectors such as biomass, combined heat and power, fuel cells, geothermal, photovoltaics, small hydro, solar thermal electricity, liquid and solid wastes, wave, tidal and wind energy. Three levels of information will be available, the first level will be free of charge and will provide general information on RET and related programmes, the second will provide a detailed fortnightly newsletter and specific marketing information for subscribers and the third, also for subscribers, will provide information on market opportunities by country, project and commercial service.
