The European Commission, DG XVII, has launched a call for proposals, under the specific RTD programme for non-nuclear energy (JOULE/THERMIE), for the recruitment of 13 consultants to work in the field of energy efficiency within the Commission. The 13 positions will entail work in the framework of THERMIE type A and B actions. Type A actions include financial support to projects in the fields of rational energy use, renewable energy sources, and fossil fuels. Type B actions include financial support to other activities in the fields of energy RTD strategy, dissemination of energy technology, and technology stimulation for SMEs. The Commission is seeking to employ intra-muros experts in the following fields: - Technology/engineering (seven positions); - Strategy/follow-up (three positions); - Information management (three positions). Intra-muros experts are individuals working in the buildings of the Commission as an interface between the officials and the external contractors or organizations. Tenderers may tender for all or some of the positions. Candidates should have a minimum of eight years experience for the technology/engineering positions, and four years experience for the strategy/follow-up and information management positions, as well as a university degree relevant to the area of work. Contracts will be offered for one year, with the possibility of being extended up to a maximum of three years in total.
