A research position is available at the INRA Biotechnologie laboratory outside Paris, France, for the holder of a BIOTECH training grant. The INRA laboratory, in Jouy-en-Josas, is a participant in the European programme for the systematic analysis of the Bacillus subtilis genes which, as yet, have no known function. This new project follows the successful determination of all 4.2 million bases of the genome, and aims to define the functions of all 4,000 genes of the bacterium. One of the main activities conducted by the laboratory is the development of the Micado database, which will collect and manage the experimental data generated by the 17 other European laboratories involved in the project. Further information may be found on the World Wide Web, at: http://locus.jouy.inra.fr/micado The laboratory is looking for candidates who could apply for BIOTECH Training grants either before the next (1 November 1997) or the following (1 March 1998) deadline.
