Major European marine research institutes
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a booklet listing major marine research institutes and organizations in Europe. The booklet accompanies the second edition of the "Map of marine research facilities of the European Community", published by the Marine Science and Technology (MAST) research programme. The second edition reflects the changes since the first edition was prepared in 1990. The European Community has three extra Member States, while Norway, Iceland and Israel all now participate fully in Community research. In addition, the new map also includes details of research institutes and organizations in Central and Eastern Europe. Full contact addresses for marine research institutes and organizations are given for some 32 European countries, arranged by country.
