Proposal of a European pathway for work-linked training and apprenticeship
The European Commission has published its proposal for a Council Decision on the promotion of European pathways for work-linked training (European Pathways). This Decision sets out the content and the common principles applying to the implementation of the programme. It establishes a standard certificate known as "Europass Training" and gives details of the contents of each pass, to be carried by European citizens. This includes details on the type and content of vocational training, specifying skills acquired and the final qualification or diploma awarded. The Commission will be responsible for the overall monitoring of the scheme, in close cooperation with Member States, which will designate a body for coordination and implementation at national level. This body will ensure quality control of the scheme, paying particular attention to equal opportunities.
