The RES2H2 Project (Cluster Pilot Project for the integration of renewable Energy Sources into European Energy Sectors using Hydrogen) aims for the integration of wind energy with technologies of storage of hydrogen, fuel cells and desalination by inverse osmosis, within the Fifth Framework Programme of research of the European Union. This project has been development at two principal test sites: one in Greece and the other in Spain.
This will be done by designing self-sufficient energy systems driven by wind energy, capable of producing "Green" hydrogen and of generating electricity and fresh water, making use of the features of hydrogen both as fuel and as storage medium as well as energy vector.
