Project Proposal
Public economic policy for growthTitle: Public economic policy for growth
Type Details: Serbian economy is undergoing dramatic changes and growth. Public companies should play an important role within the economy in enhancing sectoral and regional economic development, however they are facing many problems. Therefore we recommend certain reforms. Successful reforms in Serbia require a critical mass of middle and senior level public officials, as well as executives of state-owned enterprises, who have a strong appreciation of the need to change and who are proficiently equipped to act effectively as change agents. Partnerships between the public and private sectors, which substantially developed in recent years, significantly provide the impetus for socio-economic development.
This project will create program of learning activity catering to government officials and state-owned enterprise executives. The program will present public sector reform as a change process that has to be managed. Essential issues and approaches leading to the implementation and sustainability of reforms, on-going reform initiatives, as well as how these are translated into policies are covered. Project objectives are:
To acquaint participants with modern public administration concepts and structures that promote better service delivery;
To improve participants' knowledge and skills in managing public sector reform;
To exchange knowledge and experience on public sector reform and the current status of reform initiatives in Serbia;
To promote communication, cooperation and trust among professionals across Serbia.
Activities are designed to challenge participants to discover new insights and ideas. Study visits and presentations from experts and practitioners from EU allow participants to learn from real situations. Relevant case studies drawn from practices elsewhere will enhance participants' knowledge and allow them to adjust to their contexts upon return to their home countries.

At the end of this program it is expected for participants in the project to: Demonstrate abi
