Café Scientifique: Nanoworld - Great Benefit or Danger?

[Date: 2006-10-12]

The British Council's Café Scientifique returns to Brussels on 19 October with an open discussion entitled 'Nanoworld: Great Benefit or Danger?'

The events are an opportunity to engage everyone, not just experts, in scientific discussion. They are held in a relaxed, café environment, and the door is open to everybody.

October's speaker will be Neil Champness, Professor Chemical Nanoscience at the University of Nottingham, and he will be joined by science journalist and presenter Toby Murcott.

Nanotechnology is seen by some as a solution to many of the world's problems, but as a great danger to society by others. Professor Champness will cut through some of the mysteries surrounding a science that is at the forefront of innovation.
