The 2nd European Innovation Summit, 'Tackling the Grand Challenges - Policy meets Practice', will be held in Brussels, Belgium from 11 to 14 October 2010.
Taking place at the European Parliament, the summit will address how innovation can help shape Europe's future. Its aim is to make issues relevant to knowledge and innovation the top priority of European policy-makers.
The summit is also an opportunity to meet and discuss the role of innovation in areas including energy efficiency, urban and regional mobility, sustained food security and agriculture, healthy ageing, and sustainable production. The future of copyright in the single market and international innovation cooperation are some of the topics on the agenda.
Confirmed participants include members of the European Parliament, the European Commission, and notable scientists such as Nobel Prize winner Peter Grünberg.
