Workshop on 'Self-service terminals and assistive technologies', Brussels, Belgium

[Date: 2009-11-20]

A workshop on 'Self-service terminals and assistive technologies' will be held in Brussels, Belgium on 7 December 2009.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on upcoming calls for proposals of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) in the area of self-service terminals and assistive technologies. The event will also aim to identify grounds for further action at the European level with support from the European Commission.

Self-service terminals, such as bank machines, train station kiosks or check-in terminals at airports are increasingly used for the delivery of basic services in daily life. However, they can be difficult to access and use for many people. This can be improved by adapting the terminals as to their physical design, software and interfaces.
