Policy meeting on 'Human rights in conflicts: the role of civil society', Brussels, Belgium
[ 2009-10-19 ]
The EU-funded SHUR ('Human rights in conflicts: the role of civil society') project is organising a policy meeting on 10 November in Brussels, Belgium.
At the meeting, the project's consortium will present the main results of its research on the role of civil society actors in ethno-political conflicts.
SHUR's overall objective is to analyse the impact of civil society on ethno-political conflicts through human rights and identify the means to strengthen the complementary actions of civil society and EU actors. Through the comparative examination of examples from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus, Turkey and Israel-Palestine, the project has drawn policy guidelines tailored to governmental and non-governmental civil society action.
