The objective of the programme is to control organisms that are harmful to plant or plant products. The official programme relates to the control of "Popillia Japonica New" on the island of Terceira, with the ultimate aim of eradicating the organism from the area altogether. The Community's financial contribution is limited to a maximum of 75% of total expenditure.
