The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender concerning data collection and analysis of Europe's eco-industries and their export potential. The Commission wishes to broaden and deepen its knowledge of eco-industries in the EU. Eco-industries are those companies producing goods and services to measure, prevent, limit or correct environmental damage to water, air, noise and eco-systems. Companies dealing with energy efficiency and renewable energy sources will also be considered. The contractor will be required to: - Update and enlarge the existing database on eco-industries in the EU in the existing 17 categories, as well as energy efficiency and renewable energy; - Gather data and analyse the export potential (and present performance) for the eco-industries sector as a whole and the expected employment effects; - Prepare and export potential study. The final report should be delivered within four months. Tender documents may be obtained, upon written request quoting reference XI.B.1/980027 from: European Commission DG XI - Environment, nuclear safety and civil protection Mr. B.
