A call for proposals for projects for the prevention of AIDS and other communicable diseases has just been launched by the European Commission. The EU's AIDS prevention programme funds projects with involvement from several EU countries which can contribute to fighting the spread of AIDS and other diseases in Europe. Proposals are now invited for actions in the following four areas: - A: Surveillance and monitoring of communicable diseases; - B: Combating transmission; - C: Information, education and training; - D: Support for persons with HIV/AIDS and combating discrimination.
