A questionnaire on new vehicle technologies has recently been completed and the European Commission, DG III, is currently inviting tenders for an analysis of the responses, particularly in relation to costs to the automotive industry arising from technological innovation and alternative fuels development. This forms an integral part of the Auto Oil II programme, which is developing enhanced methodologies to reduce, at lowest cost, noxious pollutant emissions in the Community from road transport and other sources. The study is expected to commence in November 1998 and should be completed within nine months. For further information, please contact: European Commission DG III - Industry Ms. V.
