CORDIS has recently launched a new homepage for the Biomedicine and Health RTD programme, one of the three specific programmes implementing the life sciences and technologies domain of the Fourth RTD Framework Programme. The purpose of this new service is to provide information on on-going medical research projects being supported by the EU. Links are also provided to information on priorities for future research under the Fifth RTD Framework Programme. The BIOMED programme contributes to improving medical knowledge and the health of the European population, as well as to increasing the competitiveness of the European health industry by strengthening its scientific basis. Priorities, as articulated in the work programme, are outlined in a section on the homepage "About BIOMED". Extensive information on the projects funded within the eight areas of research of the programme may also be accessed via the homepage. A section is devoted to events and news allowing the user easy access to the most recent information on the programme. Copies of the BIOMED newsletter are available for downloading from the Website and contact details for those involved in the programme within the Commission are also provided.
