The European Commission, DG XXII, has relaunched its invitation to tender for the provision of services for the promotion of the use of interactive media in the fields of education and training, discovery and knowledge through the organisation of "Netd@ys Europe 1999". The services required will assess the results of the Netd@ys Europe 1998 project in detail, and present the appropriate recommendations for repeating the experience in 1999 on a wider basis (lifelong education and culture). The successful contractors will also supply the Commission with all the technical assistance necessary to define and implement a full communication plan, which will be based on a close partnership with public and private sector participants. Furthermore the services will include the development of a Netd@ys Website, together with a set of information and communication services to prepare and organise events throughout Europe. Finally, a report is to be produced on the basis of experience acquired during Netd@ys, with specific recommendations for accelerating the use of new educational media. The contract will run for a duration of 12 months.
