Overview of EU grants and loans
A guide providing an overview of the range of funding opportunities available from the European union, has recently been published on the Europa Website. The guide provides an overview of all the different funding activities which may contribute to projects across the European Union and beyond. The EU's RTD Framework Programmes are just one example of the mechanisms under which the EU makes a financial contribution to projects and activities which touch on the lives of people all across Europe. The Guide is split into chapters according to the field concerned. Overall, each field addresses one of four key priorities for EU action: - Economic and social cohesion of the EU: including the Structural Funds, the Cohesion fund, and support to agriculture and fisheries activities; - Growth, competitiveness and environmental protection: including policies such as research, energy, environment, transport and small business development; - A people's Europe: including health and safety, education and training, culture, and justice and home affairs; - Europe and the world: assistance to third countries, such as the Lomé Convention, the PHARE and TACIS programmes and the Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
