The proceedings of a workshop on the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in the study of ancient landscapes and features related to ancient land use, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 27 April 1996, have recently been published by the European Commission, DG XII. The workshop was held within the framework of COST Action G2. The publication contains the texts of nearly all the presentations delivered during the conference.
