Harmonized framework for databases on packaging and packaging waste
The European Commission, DG XI, has published an open invitation to tender for the completion of a study on the development of a harmonized framework for databases on packaging and packaging waste. The successful candidate will be required to: - Identify and review the methodologies available for the collection and presentation of data on packaging, including reusable packaging, and packaging waste, and the different management options available in this field (i.e. collection, sorting, recycling and other forms of recovery); - Taking into account the aforementioned information, formulate a harmonized framework which should include the definitions needed, including composites, and the ranges of accuracy to be aimed for in the data. The study is to be carried out within the context of the Community waste management policy.
