TRANSPORT third call for proposals due in December 1996
The third call for proposals for the specific RTD programme in the field of transport, originally due on 15 September 1996, will now be launched in mid-December 1996, with a closing date in mid-March 1997. The call will cover all areas of the programme, as follows: - Strategic research for a trans-European multimodal network; - Network optimization: . Rail transport; . Integrated transport chains; . Air transport; . Urban transport; . Maritime transport and inland waterways; . Road transport. Approximately 25 to 30% of the original budget for the programme (ECU 240 million) will be used for the third call. The call for technology stimulation measures for SMEs, originally launched on 15 December 1994 with a budget of up to ECU 12 million, has now closed. The Commission is presently reviewing how to improve these measures for the transport chapter of the Fifth Framework Programme.
