The European Commission, DG III, has launched an open call to tender for a study on the integration of the mechanical and electrical engineering industries of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Romania into the EU economy. The study is aimed at complementing the information provided by the countries concerned and giving the Commission an updated description of the current situation and an assessment of the prospects for: - The mechanical and electrical engineering industries in the abovementioned countries (economic and trade analysis); - The regulatory regime governing the placing on the market of mechanical and electrical engineering products in the abovementioned countries, including legislation, de facto mandatory standards and public and private certification infrastructure (regulatory analysis). Tenderers may bid for one or both of the above lots. The contract will last for nine months.
