A total of 31 proposals have been selected for funding under the Community's specific programme for the dissemination and exploitation of the results of RTD activities (INNOVATION). The proposals have been selected following the call for proposals published in December 1995 (OJ No S 240 of 15.12.1995). This call, which related specifically to the promotion of innovation management techniques, closed on 15 March 1996. Two types of projects were requested: - Projects to strengthen the know-how of national and regional organizations, both in the public and private sectors, promoting innovation management techniques among SMEs; - Accompanying measures fostering the transnational exchange of knowledge and methodological practice in the promotion and use of these techniques towards SMEs. A total of 107 proposals were submitted. Of the 31 proposals selected, 24 are for projects and 7 for accompanying measures. These will receive Community funding of approximately ECU 9 million. A further 5 projects have, however, been placed on a reserve list subject to additional funding being made available. In this context, and as part of the Community's aim to disseminate good practice, a regular newsletter will give details of project activities, including progress and results, and contact details for further information. The first issue of this newsletter is planned for March 1997.
