Icelandic position paper on A Fifth Framework Programme

Iceland has participated fully in the Fourth Framework Programme according to the provisions of the EEA-agreement which came into force on January 1, 1994.

Co-operation in the field of research and development, which comprises an important part of the co-operation within the EEA agreement, involves a considerable commitment on the part of Iceland and it has been accorded a prominent position in Icelandic science policy. In our experience, it has given Icelandic researchers in universities, institutes and companies valuable new opportunities, and we are confident that the benefits of this co-operation within the Framework Programme are mutual.

The present document presents some preliminary views and comments of a general nature concerning the Fifth Framework Programme. As the preparations continue, Iceland will forward further and more detailed views and remarks.
