EU-Russia Symposium on Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology, St. Petersburg, 6-8 June 2006

In the frame of the EU-Russia Science and Technology Co-operation agreement, the European Commission, Directorate-General for Research together with the Russian Academies of Sciences and the Russian Federation (RF), Ministry of Education and Science have organised an EU-Russia Symposium for co-operation in the field of food, agriculture and biotechnology, held in St. Petersburg on 6-8 June 2006.

The objective of this Symposium was primarily to discuss EU-Russia joint-interest research priorities in Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology, particularly in the areas of Industrial Biotechnology, Forestry, Plant and Food science and technology, as well as Animal Health. This event was aimed at sharing knowledge and experiences as well as networking among EU and RF scientists and facilitators involved in these sectors, in view of enhanced EU-Russia cooperative research, particularly in FP7. The Symposium also included a brokerage event, visits to local research centers and a young scientists' conference. More information on this Symposium as well as the presentations (slides) are available hereunder.
