Coordination of research activities
Main objectives:
The objectives of Community action in this field is
to contribute to the creation of the European Research
Area by stimulating and supporting programme coordination
and joint activities conducted at national or regional
level, as well as among European organisations, and thus
help to develop the common knowledge base necessary for
the coherent development of policies. These activities
may be in any scientific and technological area, including
in the thematic priority areas.

:: Coordination of national
activities
- Networking of national or regional programmes (ERA-NET);
Actors: Programme Managers; Open call for proposals 2002-2005;
budget €148 million.
Provisions for implementing the ERA-NET scheme - background

- Development of an integrated information system on national
and regional research programmes programmes. Actor: Commission
:: Coordination at European
level
- Coordination and cooperation between Framework Programme
and COST, EUREKA and other thematic international organisations
(CERN, ESA, ESO, EMBL, ESRF, ILL etc.)
Budget:
The indicative budget allocated to Co-ordination of research
activities for the duration of FP6 is EUR 292 million.
