  • 2nd PERADA WORKSHO P
    28 Sept. 2010 - Budapest (HU)
Call for papers : Self Organisation in Pervasive Adaptive Systems
The prospect of building self-organising and adapting pervasive sys-tems brings many new challenges, ranging from maintaining trust and security to enabling the formation of tribes of societal artefacts. Ad-dressing these challenges will require a unified approaches, integrat-ing competencies across a range of disciplines; the goal of this work-shop is to bring together researchers working in perhaps historically distinct fields to work together in defining goals and methods that will move towards tackling the particular problems associated with deal-ing with self-organising and adaptive pervasive computing environ-ments.
The workshop particularly addresses adaptation strategies (bio-inspired, stochastic or otherwise) which will operate at different time scales and speeds, from short term adaptation to long-term evo-lution, and will imply changes in software, hardware, protocols and/or architecture at different levels of granularity and abstraction. This 2nd Perada Workshop was held in conjunction with: SASA (see below)
  • SASO, the 4th International Conference on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organsing Systems
    September 27-October 1, 2010 Budapest (HU)
The aim of SASO conference series is to provide a forum for laying the foundations of a new principled approach to engineering systems, networks and services based on self-adaptation and self-organization. To this end, the meeting aims to attract participants with different backgrounds, to foster cross-pollination between different research fields, and to expose and discuss innovative theories, frameworks, methodologies, tools, and applications. Call for papers & all related info

  • Science & Policy Forum on FET Flagships" Workshop
    9-10 June 2010 - Brussels (BE)
The objective of this workshop is to establish an open, high-level, high-visibility event and to inform all stakeholders (from key scientists to research policy makers) on the preparation of the FET Flagship Initiatives. This event is to:
    - Serve as a wide, open forum for exchange of ideas among representatives of the scientific community and from research authorities of Member States.
    - Offer an opportunity to present and discuss the ideas submitted through the online consultation
    - Promote a further consolidation of the concept and features of FET Flagships
    - Strengthen support of the different Member States, through the role and activities of a dedicated working group
    - Serve as an occasion to launch the FET Flagships Science Forum and present its Coordination Group
    - Explain what is involved in the process of soliciting Pilot Preparatory Actions for FET Flagship Initiatives and the specific Call on FET Flagship Pilots that is planned to open around end of July 2010.
