Concertation & Clusters - Building a vibrant European research community

To sustain and develop a vibrant research community, the European Commission facilitates cooperation between projects, organises and supports regular events to keep a constant interaction with its stakeholders, in particular EU projects of the three clusters: Future Internet Architectures and Network Management Technologies - FI Cluster , Radio Access and Spectrum - RAS Cluster and Converged and Optical Networks - CaON Cluster

Twice a year the Future Networks FP7 Concertation Meeting takes place.
The purpose of the meeting is to bring together the ongoing FP7 projects and facilitate exchange of results and achievements, and build consensus.
In particular, the objectives of this meeting are:
  • To support the ongoing FP7 projects in sharing their latest research achievements
  • To enhance the project cooperation activities, share best practices and opportunities for (pre-) standardisation
  • Set future activities and topics of common interest for each cluster
  • To facilitate networking and discussion among the participants
In addition, the European Commission is supporting the Future Networks and Mobile Summit - FUNEMS , an annual highlight of the EU research in network communications.
The Future Networks projects also participate in the Future Internet Assembly - FIA , dedicated to open interactions and cross-fertilization across technical domains in Europe's Future Internet research community.
