The annual highlight of the EU future networks research will be held in Warsaw on 14-17 June 2011. Registration is still open for delegates' fees.  The latest Advance Programmeand brochure are as well available.

Going wireless for extra home comfort and transport safety:
EU-funded ultra-wide band technology seen through EUWB (European Ultra-Wideband) project

Wherever you may find yourself - at home, on an intercontinental flight or enjoying an exciting road trip - staying connected is no longer a whim, but a real necessity. EUWB (Coexisting Short Range Radio by Advanced Ultra-Wideband Radio Technology), an EU-funded FP7 project in the "Future Networks" area, has taken Ultra Wide Band Radio Technology (UWB) some good steps further. EUWB uses this technology to develop smarter solutions for more efficient home entertainment, air travel and cars. This effort helps define the aim of the Digital Agenda for Europe: turning "Every European Digital".

A Proposers' Networking Day will take place on Tuesday 14 June as a pre-conference event. The focus is on the upcoming FP7 and Celtic-Plus research funding opportunities relevant to the networks community. This workshop is organised by the Net!Works and ISI European Technology Platforms (ETPs), EUREKA Celtic Plus and IdealIST. European Commission officials will provide an in-depth overview on FP7 research funding objectives on Future Networks, Cloud Computing and Trustworthy ICT.

Publications

The Future Networks Research and Innovation via Standardisation Report is now available on our website. Following the February 10th Concertation Plenary Meeting in Brussels, it highlights the latest FP7 projects having reached the standardisation stage.

The next Future Internet Assembly (FIA) will take place in Budapest from May 16th to 19th  as part of the Future Internet Week. The Future Networks projects are also organizing the ICT and Sustainability Workshop. Last days to register!
