Vision and Objectives:
Mixed reality environments will benefit from future internet enabling technologies to convey the ambitious vision of totally immersing users in a consistent world of media experience that is generated from both real and virtual stimuli. These environments shall provide the sense of being there, to enable expressive multimodal communications, e.g. gaming, learning, training, simulating, social networking, participating, acting, doing, influencing and interacting.
Presence and interaction are expected to be essential characteristics in these environments.
Multimodal interactions combined with hi-performance networked applications can enable future communication systems that allow people to experience and live different realities (virtual, augmented and mixed). In Combination with aspects provided by well designed games environments, motivation, engagement and creativity should be enforced.
