Indicative budget distribution
- Objective 3.2: IP and STREP: EUR 61 million with a minimum of 25% to IPs and 25% to STREP. It is expected that a minimum of one IP each for a)(i), a)(ii), b)(i), and b(ii) is supported; CSA: EUR 3 million.
- Objective 3.4: IPs and STREPs: EUR 69 million with a minimum of 40% to IPs and 30% to STREPs

Objective FoF-ICT-2013.7.2: Equipment assessment for sensor and laser based applications
(Of direct relevance to photonics is target outcome b) of Objective 7.2: Innovative laser applications in manufacturing).


Of potential interest to photonics, though less direct, are also target outcomes a), c), and d) of Objective FoF-ICT-2013.7.2:
a) Intelligent equipment solutions in custom manufacturing and/or remanufacturing: Equipment assessment of sensor-/actuator-driven equipment
c) Establish a network of innovation multipliers in the manufacturing sectors across all take-up projects of Challenge 7
d) Support a rapid build-up of new manufacturing skills: training methodologies and ICT-based tools to attract the interest of young talents in manufacturing and engineering.

Photonics is strongly involved in the upcoming Call FP7-2012-NMP-ICT-FoF on the 'Factories of the Future' under Objective 7.1d (Lasers) and under Objective 7.2 Manufacturing of new ICT products (Organic Large Area Electronics and Photonics - OLAE). ICT-PSP Call 5
Call opened: 1 March 2011 / Closed: 1 June 2011
The 2011 ICT PSP Workprogramme, part of the CIP Framework Programme includes a specific Objective 1.1: Innovative lighting systems based on Solid State Lighting (SSL). This is to fund large scale pilot actions to demonstrate the best use of innovative lighting systems based on SSL for better light quality and control with a substantial reduction in energy consumption. Support will be provided to large scale pilots to demonstrate the energy savings, total cost of operation and user acceptance.

Over the timeframe 2009-2010 two distinct calls for proposals are to be published addressing photonic components and systems: one on 'Photonics - Objective 3.7' and the other on 'Organic Photonics and other disruptive photonics technologies - Objective 3.8'. Call 5 includes Objective 3.7 (without part C). Call 5 opended 31 July and closed 27 October 2009.
